Yes, there's now a wonderful purple gradient at the top of my images since I'm in my sketchbook rather than PS Elements.
Regardless, I tried to play around with some different hairstyles for Maggie. Longer? Shorter? I tried to keep it simplified to save the poor animators some grief.
For the monster, I looked at one of the necromorphs from Dead Space games called the Tripod. These arms are obviously nowhere near as meaty (excuse the pun), but I liked the angles of the Tripod and tried to incorporate them a little bit.
